Research Requests and Publication Look-ups

If you've been trying to find vital records or information on one of your genealogy brick walls, then I may be able to help you.
I love a challenge and hope that you choose me because I won't stop looking for what is missing in your family tree.

My name is Jen and I have been working on my own genealogy research projects since 1996, and my mother began in the late 1960s.  I own a large collection of genealogical histories, biographical histories, as well as several databases on cd.  I am a member of the Illinois, Chicago, and National Genealogical Societies, the Galena IL Historical Society and Museum among others.

Services:

I am available for genealogy and local history look-ups on the following areas; Chicago, Northern Illinois Suburbs, as well as the following suburban locations; Oak Park, LaGrange and Brookfield. Below you can find a list of the publications that I own and are willing to do look ups in.  If you live outside the state of Illinois and are unable to find a record or similar document from where you live, I can do the research and obtain the documentation on your behalf.  I can if necessary visit area libraries, museums or similar to locate something that you haven't been able to.

Rates:
For my time I charge by the hour for research that takes me out of my house, for general publication look ups from books that I own I charge by the page.  My fees include postage for domestic mail one large envelope can hold a maximum weight of 13 oz therefore if more than one envelope is needed I will use USPS Priority Mail envelope (12-1/2" x 9-1/2") which is currently $4.90 regardless of weight or destination.  I scan publications from my collection; if copies of publications from libraries or museums are needed I will strive to ensure that the copies they provide me with are of a readable quality. In addition if you would like to have the copies of anything from my collection put on a cd and sent along with your hard copies, I will add an additional .50 to the order.

I have in the past had problems with copies given to me from several places including the National Archives which must use an ancient type of copier.

If you are in need of copies of documents that are available to those with subscriptions to genealogy related websites and you are not one of those people, I am.  I can look-up information, print it, and send it to you for the same cost as above.  I use a laser printer therefore the quality of images or other document you need will be great.

I will be accepting PayPal for any of the above services beginning shortly.  Please check back soon.  If you are interested in any of the genealogy research services mentioned above please leave me a comment at research@heergenealogy.com.
Thanks and happy hunting...................
